Xebec specializes in the design and manufacture of cost-effective, environmentally responsible purification, separation, dehydration, and filtration equipment for gases and compressed air. The solutions we provide include natural gas and biogas purification, natural gas dehydration, hydrogen purification for fuel cell and industrial applications, and specialized solutions for other gases. Xebec also offers compressed air treatment solutions. To-date, Xebec has supplied more than 8000 adsorption systems to more than 1300 customers worldwide.

Xebec holds many high level manufacturing certifications including: ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9001:2000, ISO14001:2004, OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) 18001:1999, Compressed Air and Gas Institute - CAGI, American Society of Mechanical Engineers - ASME, Canadian Standards Association for Canada - CSA, Canadian Standards Association for the United States CSAUS, Canadian Registration Number - CRN, NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) America, NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) Alliance. The company has implemented IMS (Integrated Management System) which incorporates all three ISO standards into a single system which complies with all internal and external laws and regulations.

Facilities

Xebec’s headquarters are located in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Blainville, Quebec, Canada. Xebec also operates a second manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China, as well as the Xebec Technology Test Centre, located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, and the Xebec Technology Test Facility, located in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Xebec also has a regional sales office, located in Singapore, to serve the Southeast Asian markets.

Xebec product lines and their applications

NGX Solutions – Natural Gas Drying and Upgrading

Xebec is the world leader in the drying of natural gas for vehicle refueling stations, with major installations around the globe. Xebec enjoys a 96% market share of the natural gas drying market, and has supplied major petrochemical companies including Exxon, Sunco, Sinopec, and Petro China. All Xebec dryers are ASME code compliant and National Board Certified, and can be built to specific requirements, such as the Chinese and Malaysian pressure vessel codes.

BGX Solutions – Biogas Purification

To-date, electricity generation has been the most common option for energy recovery from biogas, accounting for over 60% of the operational landfill gas processing plants in the United States. However, the recovery of pipeline grade methane or compressed natural gas (CNG) from landfill gas is also viable using gas purification technology. Xebec’s methane purifiers are used around the world to upgrade biogas to renewable natural gas. For instance, the Xebec gas purification system at Cincinnati’s Rumpke Landfill, one of the largest landfills in the U.S., upgrades biogas from the landfill into pipeline-quality renewable natural gas.

H2X Solutions – Hydrogen Purification

Adsorption technology is used in both hydrogen generation plants and for hydrogen recovery from the oil refinery process. The overall increase in hydrogen demand is expected to drive demand for adsorption systems for use in large capacity hydrogen plants, and for recovering hydrogen in oil refineries. Xebec, in collaboration with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company, has developed a large capacity adsorption product platform for use in a range of refinery applications, including hydrogen recovery from refinery off-gas streams.

ADX Solutions – Compressed Air Drying

Compressed air dryers are used in factories, most of which use dry air to operate machinery and tools. Xebec has been providing superior filtration solutions for over 40 years, making it a partner of choice for major OEM compressor manufacturers worldwide. In response to customers’ increasing energy conservation needs, and a first in the industry, ADX offers a system which can be upgraded to comply with evolving energy conservation requirements. Xebec also offers an online selection program, ADX Select, which allows customers to compare the capital cost, carbon footprint, and energy cost of the various ADX models.

FSX Solutions – Gas and Compressed Air Filtration

Xebec also produces a wide variety of filtration equipment needed for gas treatment or compressed air systems. These products include water separators for bulk water removal, coalescing filters for the removal of fine water droplets, and particulate filters for the capture of dust. Sizes range from single element cast aluminum housings to industrial scale multi-element fabricated filter housings of carbon or stainless steel.

SPX Solutions - Specialized Gas treatment Solutions

Xebec accepts mandates to evaluate and create specialized gas treatment solutions in response to a variety of specific needs. Almost all industrial gases, whether they are inert, flammable, acid, reactive or oxidizing, can all be dried using adsorption technology. Working together to understand the parameters and variables specific to each situation enables Xebec to work efficiently toward an effective specialized gas treatment solution.
