Operations Director

OBJECTIVE:
Improve the productivity, efficiency and profitability of industrial operations. The Manufacturing Engineer will design, improve, install and manage integrated systems for production including people, raw materials and components, information and equipment. Production must also take into consideration health & safety and the environment.

RESPONSABILITIES:


  • Optimize manufacturing in terms of costs, delays, quality and quantity;

  • Participate in the manufacturing program, in conjunction with the services upstream and downstream of the production;

  • Prevent, identify and control risks (anomalies, malfunctions...);

  • Evaluate the time study for each product (ADX, PSA, NGX) and implement improvement processes, reduce production time and delivery time;

  • Redefine the implementation of assembly lines for each product;

  • Evaluate the profitability of each production line and evaluate subcontracting possibilities;

  • Evaluate the capacity and the means of production (equipment, materials and workforce) according to the forecasts and use subcontracting;

  • Integrate and supervise new production lines;

  • Carry out tests for new products or new tools in order to increase the efficiency of the plant;

  • Participate in investment projects;

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:


  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related discipline;

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar role;

  • Experience in mechanical (and/or electromechanical) machine design as well as in project/contract management;

  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ) (an asset );

  • Understanding of P&ID drawing (process diagram and instrumentation) (Essential);

  • Very good knowledge on the sizing and selection of thermo-fluid appliances (compressors, pumps, heat exchanger, valves, fan, piping, etc.);

  • Basic knowledge of process instrumentation;

  • Knowledge of electro-pneumatic systems;

  • Knowledge of Autocad and MS Visio software (an asset);

  • Field testing experience (an asset);

  • Ability to apply analytical decision making tools, and to think in broad terms, considering the impact of decisions across the entire company;

  • An ability to drive issues back to the source, root cause, or constraint and capitalize on opportunities for improvement;

  • Able to manage priorities effectively;

  • Knowledge of gas processes (asset);

  • Bilingual (English and French);

  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills, transversal leadership and team building abilities.

  • Enthusiastic, proactive, determined, motivated, and results oriented;

  • Detail oriented and proven organizational skills;

  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
