Superviseur:
Reports to Quality Assurance Manager

Objective:
The incumbent will perform quality control inspections throughout the manufacturing process, from inspection through receipt of materials to final products. The inspector will be in charge of the follow-up of all documents used to manufacture natural gas dryers (According to ASME code) and other products manufactured by the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that manufactured products conform to the codes and standards with which the company is certified

  • Performs inspection at different points during production (assembly inspection and visual welds)

  • Performs inspection of Mill Test Report and SA516 nameplates

  • Performs inspection of suppliers and materials before manufacture

  • Performs internal and external inspections according to applicable standards (ASME and others)

  • Performs verification of hydrostatic and pneumatic tests of tanks and piping

  • Creates non-compliance reports and follow-up

  • Performs dimensional inspections

  • Performs inspection and monitoring with the Régie du Bâtiment du Québec

  • Writes the U-1A and U-3A (U and UM) data reports

  • Prepares for welder's tests and monitors of welder qualifications

  • Creates documents used to monitor the projects (road map, etc.)

  • National Board (follow-up in logbook and sending of data reports)

  • Monitors the calibration of measuring instruments

  • Initiates the non-destructive testing (NDE) to suppliers

  • Creates documentation for clients (Historical Docket)

  • Performs the internal calibration of some equipment

  • Job Requirements:


    QUALIFICATIONS:


    • Minimum Level 1 Inspector Certificate of the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB);Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering (asset)

    • DEP in welding (asset)

    • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar position

    • Knowledge of different welding processes

    • Experience in inspection of pressure tanks and piping (asset)



    SKILLS:

    • Knowledge in plan reading and welding symbol

    • Knowledge of welding defects

    • Ability to Manipulate measuring tools such as vernier, measuring tape, ultrasound, welding defect measurement instrument

    • Knowledge of the ASME code

    • Bilingual, oral and written

    • Autonomy, punctuality and reliability

    • Knowledge of European PED standards (an asset)
