Xebec Launches Compact Hydrogen PSA Purification Units for Industrial and Fuel Cell Applications
MONTREAL, (QC), October 18th, 2016 - Xebec Adsorption Inc. (TSXV: XBC) ("Xebec"), a provider of gas purification, generation and filtration solutions for the hydrogen, natural gas, field gas, helium, oxygen and nitrogen markets, announces the introduction of a complete range of high performance, Fast Cycle Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Systems capable of ultra-pure hydrogen purification of up to 6.0 hydrogen grade (99.9999%).
Launched under its H2X Solutions® brand, Xebec’s Fast Cycle PSA hydrogen purifier range has 27 standard models starting at 3 SCFM (5 NCMH) up to 18,000 SCFM (30,000 NCMH), operating within a pressure envelope of 50 - 450 psig. Multiple train and multi-valve machines can be combined to obtain flow capacities of up to 72,000 SCFM (120,000 NCMH).
Ultra-Compact / Super High Purity for Stationary Fuel Cell Applications
With the increasing demand for compact, smaller flow, high purity hydrogen purifiers, the low flow end of the Xebec range contains 4 ultra-compact models that boast an extremely small footprint, delivering high purity product. They come skid-mounted, loaded with adsorbents, ready to install.
Fast Cycle PSA Technology Offers Optimal Cycle Design
Xebec’s Fast Cycle PSA units are based on proprietary rotary valve technology; one rotary feed valve is connected to the bottom of each bed and one rotary product valve is connected to the top of each bed. Feed gas flows through at least one bed while, simultaneously, purified product gas flows from the bed to the product line. Other flows are similarly connected through the rotary valve for exhaust, purge, equalizations, etc.

Proven Highly Reliable
Xebec’s Fast Cycle PSAs have accumulated over 15 million commercial operating hours (over 30 million valve hours), with more than 200 systems in continuous operation. The rotary valves are highly reliable, with recommended inspection intervals of 2.5 years, and service intervals of 5 years. Xebec’s PSA installations have proven availabilities of 99.9%, including service intervals.
