MONTREAL (QC), November 28, 2016 - Xebec Adsorption Inc. (TSXV: XBC) (“Xebec” or the “Corporation”), a global provider of gas purification, generation, and filtration solutions for the natural gas, field gas, biogas, helium, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen markets, announced its 2016 third quarter operating results today.
- Revenues of $1.8 million for the third quarter of 2016 compared to $2.0 million for the same quarter in 2015, a 12.4% decrease.
- Net loss of $(0.5) million or $(0.02) per share for the three month period ending September 30, 2016 compared to a net loss of $(1.0) million or $(0.03) per share for the same period in 2015.

- Progressive improvement of the North America operation.
Xebec posted revenues of $ 1.8 million for the third quarter of 2016, a 12.4% decrease compared to $2.0 million in the third quarter of 2015. This decrease is due mainly to a slowdown in China operations which is partially offset by the increase in North America revenues.
As of November 28, 2016, total order backlog stood at $8.4 million, compared to $5.8 million as at November 6,
Xebec’s gross margin as a % of revenues for the third quarter of 2016 amounted to 15.4% ($0.3 million) compared to 21.2% ($0.4 million), a 5.8% decrease compared to the same period in 2015. This decrease in % margin is due to lower absorption of fixed costs over a smaller revenue base.
EBITDA and Net loss
The EBITDA for the third quarter of 2016 amounted to $(0.3) million compared to $(0.9) million in the third quarter of 2015. This increase is mainly explained by the significant reduction of the selling and administrative expenses which was partially offset by the lower realized gross margins.
The net loss for the third quarter of 2016 totaled $(0.5) million, or $(0.02) per share, compared to a net loss of $(1.0) million, or $(0.03) per share for the same 2015 period.
Selling and administrative expenses reduced significantly to $0.7 million compared to $1.4 million in the third quarter of 2015.
